Apply to the SuperUROP Undergraduate Research Program

Faculty: Please click on the appropriate department below (or click on Login, if you already have an account)

At this time the EECS Department has confirmed that they will participate in the SuperUROP Program and provide funding to most of their students working with EECS faculty. If you are choosing a supervisor in another department, it would be good to have a co-supervisor on the EECS faculty, to facilitate your eligibility for funding.

In addition to EECS, we expect that the following departments will participate in SuperUROP 2023-2024, but this has not been confirmed yet:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • AeroAstro Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Civil and Environmental Engineering
  • Nuclear Science and Engineering

The MIT option is for students who are not in the listed departments. In this case, it is unlikely that there will be departmental SuperUROP funding. There is possibly funding from your supervisor (at a rate you negotiate with your supervisor) or from the UROP office (at below the SuperUROP rate) or you can earn credit for the research component.

Please click on the appropriate department below to get started.

The deadline for intent is Friday, April 7th. (for most departments)

The deadline for the proposal is Monday, April 24th. (for most departments)
